I don't know what you would consider local, but we usually go to Fleming's in Indiana and cut down our own tree. They have a really nice operation and really make it fun. Here's their website if you're interested: http://www.flemingschristmastrees.com/index.asp

I found a great place to get a Christmas Tree. I love this place because the drive there is beautiful and the trees are nice also. It's near Pavia so I drive through Blue Knob State Park to get there. My wife and I take a bit of wine and the pooches and make an afternoon of it. From the Park you'd make a left at the stop sign in Pavia and drive about 4 miles. I can't remember the complete name but I think it's like Mountain Top Trees or mtn view trees

I have my eyes on a tree in my neighbors yard. Day after Thanksgiving, after midnight, it's coming down! ... JK! Actually, I am allergic to, not the pine tree, but the pollens and such that are on the tree. Therefore, I must use an artificial tree.

No, Boo, no! You'll end up getting your hands cut off! LOL, that's right, I forgot for a moment. Lord, I apologize for thinking of stealing my neighbors little pine tree. Please don't poke my eyes out for looking at it, and cutting my hands off for thinking of taking it. Amen.

In Cambria and Somerset counties cutting your neighbor's tree is more likely to get one shot than to have one's hand cut off.

My husband and father took our daughter down to the parade this eve. She had a blast. This was her first time going to the Christmas parade and turning on of the lights. My husband said she was screaming and clapping when the marching band went by, she was so excited. There was a good crowd there as well. He said the streets were packed full! Sounded like fun, but I didn't go because I was in the middle of making nut rolls for the holiday.

Since random acts of artwork are showing up around the city.. someone needs to create a LIVE Christmas tree for 24 hours... Get a set of bleachers. all wear green and sing Christmas caroles.. the possibilities are endless.
