Our capitalist general motors was saved by the socialist U.S. government. now the guv is trying to play socialist capitalist. The government role is not and should not ever be capitalist.  GOVERNMENT MOTORS IS A SOCIALIST SOCIETY AND A SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT WHICH IS , WELL, COMMUNISM.

Pabulum.  Without socialism our capitalists would be a lot less wealthy.  Taxes paid get redistributed and are then redistributed again and again and again.

CAPITALIST SOCIALISM.  THE EMPHASIS "HAS" TO BE ON THE SECOND WORD BECAUSE THE FIRST WORD IS FOR DESCRIPTIVE PURPOSES.

AND FURTHER, SOCIALIST CAPITALISM WOULD SUGGEST THE SOCIALISM COMES FROM CAPITALIST. We know that socialism would not come from capitalism because of our experience with big business and unions. Capitalist businessmen and socialist unions clashed and actually warred. Capitalist business people have no concern for the worker other than to use them for as long as they are productive, then dispose of them. Capitalism is business, socialism is labor. government has to side with labor because the masses in a democratic society will demand it. the masses are labor. But still be business friendly because you want capitalist to create jobs and invest in new and expanded business ventures. It has to be capitalist socialism to work. Capitalist would never support socialism because it hurts their bttom line. And I think that the only way to have capitalist socialism is to coerce, cajole, and intimidate a little socialism from the capitalists. THE TRICK IS TO BE "BUSINESS FRIENDLY" and not bog business down with the expense of red tape, excessive rules and regulations, and high capital gains taxes. The American government is willing to be socialist, they've shown that to be the case time and again. It has become their nature to be all to everyone. The problem in America is that America is not business friendly. Lawsuits happy people, red tape, regulations and rules on end after end. Try to start up a business sometime, it's a freakin nightmare all the red tape involved, to say nothing of a tax code that no one can understand. You got tax numbers, liscense, zoning, insurance, workers comp, bookkeeping and accounting employees, forms to fillout and mail, pensions, 401k's or whatever, paid holidays, overtime, sick days, unions to deal with. Then you got to find markets and customers, make them happy, give them a deal and a bargain, extend credit maybe. Pay bills and taxes and make a profit. In America an employee costs you about a 1000 a week in wages and benefits, and expenses. 600 a week being an average wage.

Our capitalistic system was saved by socialism.  See Government Motors.

So I guess that means you are buying one of their Volts, that only gets 40 miles to a charge and costs 42,000 dollars?
I would rather go with the toyota that gets 100 miles per charge and cost 9,000 less.

Yep Government motors was saved, but not for long.

Ford on the other hand looks just as good as GM and they took almost no money from the government.  I would rather buy a toyota because they are non-union workers and look at the difference in car prices to see the cost of a union job.  $9,000 per car, seems like a steep price to pay to someone who just empties the coffers to buy votes and then expects a taxpayer bailout to make the pension solvent again.

I would buy a Malibu or a Fusion if I were in the market today.

I love my country.

I love my country also, but not at the cost of a few greedy folks in charge of unions.

Union had their place and time, but now they are nothing but lobbing groups and I thought we all agreed that those need to go.

hey weiner, who emptied the coffers to buy votes and expects a bail-out to make the pension solvent again? The Union? Unions invest in U. S. debt bonds and municipal bonds to keep their pensions solvent. Unions are almost dead and suffer from a serious cash flow problem.
As far as emptying the coffers, I'd say everybody shot their wads on the 2008 election. It's back scratchin time, i guess.

They are nothing but a lobbing group, which if all their members knew what it was that some of them lobby for, I bet there would quite a few that would no longer be members.

Well let us look and see what unions have their hand out to the government like it is allowance time at the kitchen table.
