http://video.foxnews.com/v/4309720/protesters-want-jobless-benefits-instead-of-jobs

Are we that spoiled that we can't flip burgers for a living?

Do these people really want to suck off of their fellow taxpayers right now in this economy?

I just can't see how they could stand there and gather in support of living off the Government and still proudly call themselves either Christian's or American's.  Isn't this like Greece in a sort of way?

Did Fox get to use the video they wanted for this piece? Signs and T-shirts about jobs fill the video, I didn't see anything about asking for more benefits.

And if I go to the 99ers web site http://www.99ers.net/, the group referenced in the story, here are the first pieces of text listed on their site, all about finding jobs and helping others find jobs:

"Looking for work? Take advantage of a FREE way to get your name out there! You can put up your contact info and what kind of work you’re looking for in the comments section of the page listed below:

What Kind of Work Are You Looking For?  Do Tell–Click Here

I just set the page up this past Sunday and I’m expecting folks will take advantage of it. At least it’s a free way for you to get your name out there.

Also there’s a couple of products we found that will assist by teaching techniques to increase your likelihood of finding a new job. We didn’t write them ourselves so there is a cost involved (about $30.00)

You can find the links to them by reading the following posts on this site:
Job Tactics That Work &  How To Find A Job With the Federal Government

The posts are jammed full of good information and that’s why we put them up there but if you’re to impatient to read the post (s) that’s cool too ’cause I’ve got the links to the sales pages on the aforementioned products for you below."

Could the Fox story be more BS?

Well in my world when you are unemployed and have 99 weeks of unemployment bennies to draw from and you use them all, that doesn't give me confidence that you really want to work a job.

I don't think I have ever drawn out an unemployment claim to it's limit that would be a 26 week claim not 99.  I might not be working the job I want but I was working, sometimes two just to make up for the one lost income.  You do what it takes you adapt to what you are given.
This government welfare system call unemployment bennies needs to retract to it previous limit of 26 weeks then you better get to work somewhere and fast.

It just feels like we are creating a entire generation that is going to look to the Government for every fix and stop thinking for themselves.  That is not what being an American is about, we seek our Independence, our liberty, our freedom, we don't seek a big brother or a parent in the form of Government to take care of us.  That would be an extremely weak excuse for a human I would think.

On another forum a poster says These people are entitled to unemployment until the money runs out. It is their money. They should not have to settle for lesser employment than what they had. etc.

I have drawn unemployment twice in my life. Once for a little over two months and once for almost five months. It was a very welcome benefit, but I never considered in MY right. And I wound up paying taxes on ever penny I drew.

The poster I spoke of above says we owe him all of the government benefits he has gotten (though he claims he has not gotten his due because he has been told single males in PA who have not been in the military and who do not pay alimony have no rights) because he did not ask to be born.

How many of you asked to be born?

In short there are people out there who think they are entitled to unlimited help because life has not given them what they want.

There is a far too large number of people who believe they are entitled to a workfree trouble free life.

Report: Unemployment High Because People Keep Blowing Their Job Interviews

WASHINGTON—With unemployment at its highest level in decades, the U.S. Department of Labor issued a report Tuesday suggesting the crisis is primarily the result of millions of Americans just completely blowing their job interviews.

According to the findings, seven out of 10 Americans could have landed their dream job last month if they had known where they see themselves in five years, and the number of unemployed could be reduced from 14.6 million to 5 million if everyone simply greeted potential employers with firmer handshakes, maintained eye contact, and stopped fiddling with their hair and face so much...................

So, are you saying that the jobs for which people blew the interview went unfilled? I would think not. There was just one who did not blow the interview and became employed.

I once had a guy tell me he needed the job to pay his fine for assault. He related that he had hit his former boss with a baseball bat.

I graded him a "A+" for honesty. BUT, he did not get the job.
