Went to an outdoor wedding at Roxbury Bandshell this past Summer.  It drizzled for the first five minutes, then the Priest waved his arms around and it got sunny.

Is Green Gables open?  I heard that the Mountain Playhouse may go dark this summer.  Not enough $$$.

Green Gables is still open. As for the Playhouse, they need to raise some $$$ from what I understand in order to have some shows this summer.

the top of the incline would be a cool iconic johnstown wedding, not sure there is room to accommodate a large number of guests.

My suggestion would be to create a list of where the lucky couple feels are a nice places to them for whatever reason location, memories, fun ..  take the list cutting into squares and fold. Place in brown bag and shake hard, allowing pbal to pick three. From the three the couple can decide where to have the wedding.. working with what is available. Me personally, I would want to be married at Grandview and write my own vows, about the cycle of life and spending eternity together .. then again, I always was a strange one.. what can I say.

I worked at Grandview for 6 years during high school and college. It really is a beautiful place. I never thought of wedding there, but the Temple of Love memorial would be really neat place on a nice spring day. I wonder if the board would allow this though?

I'd recommend the back yard for an outdoor wedding. Why rent a place when you can put the $ into your own landscaping  and arrangements and enjoy them for many years. People spend way too much money on weddings and funerals.

How about Buttermilk Falls. That would be a first of many. Free chilling for the beer at the reception, (held there of course), and a hell of a back drop for pics. Or pbal, OUR PLACE. If you don't know where thats at, ask your cousin Bob for directions. That was the make out place in the 60's for the few of us that could keep a secret. Keep it alive bro....

And I thought you were gonna suggest the stadium for an outdoor wedding. Another of your bright ideas!
