To answer a few questions on the above topics:
Guests - The Buzz is an open forum. To that end, and in order to encourage increased membership, Guests are permitted to browse the forums. Members should be aware that their posts, along with any personal information contained therein, are open to the world. Admin has tracked Guest activity to date and, overwhelmingly, the Guests have simply been members who are not logged in. Guests do not have access to any personal information NOT included in your posts.
Socks (of current Members) - Socks, per se, are not prohibited from The Buzz. Members should be aware, however, that IP addresses are visible to the Admin. There are legitimate reasons for multiple memberships from the exact same IP, but bannable behavior from one Member may very likely result in the banning of all members linked to a specific IP address. The admin has no interest in revealling who does, or does not, have a sock, or socks, on this site.
PM's - The question has been asked several times as to whether anyone can see your Private Messages. PM's are stored in the database and, as such, are accessible to the Admin. However, retrieving PM's is a time-consuming, complicated and site-threatening process. One wrong keystroke, and it all goes up in smoke. Moreover, the Admin is in no way interested in personal communications among Members. Threatening or harrassing PM's or emails should be forwarded to the Admin's attention.
Emails - Even if you choose the option to NOT reveal your email address, YOU will be able to see YOUR OWN email in the Members list, along with the emails of those who choose to reveal theirs. No one else, except the Admin, has access to your email address. The Admin has no interest either in distributing or communicating through your email short of emergency communications relative to the Buzz.
Hope that clears up the questions on these issues.
